Web Developer

Salary: £14,000, depending on experience

Position: Full time, Permanent

This is a great opportunity for a passionate & positive website developer to join our team to help develop innovative web sites, eCommerce and web based applications. The ideal candidate will be equally innovative and up-to-date with trends, forecasts and innovations of others.

An adaptive, creative thinker and problem solver should all describe you well.

Our new Web Developer must be fluent in HTML and CSS. An ability to work with the usual social networking sites, WordPress system and experience integrating projects with social networking would be an asset. You must be able to demonstrate clean, well-commented code as well as a love for clean design, whitespace and the grid.

The successful applicant will be required to take projects from supplied layouts through to full web development and entering content from digital files supplied. Full support is given by a dedicated project manager allowing you to get on with the business of web development rather than chasing content.

Reporting to the Project Manager, principal duties and responsibilities will involve:

Website development from supplied layouts (you will be given detailed PNG/PSD layouts of sites, knowledge of Fireworks/Photoshop essential)

Building the site skeleton (ensuring the initial design follows through the site)

Coding the CSS, Basic PHP, javascript, jQuery etc.

Ensuring the site is accessible and search engine friendly

Ensuring the site works in all current browsers PC & Mac

Working closely with the team & help out where required

Hours of work will be 9:00-17.30 Monday-Thursday and 9:00-17:00 on Friday

Core skills required are:

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Web Standards, Accessibility, Optimisation, RSS Feeds, XML, mySQL, Apple Mac proficient, Fireworks, Photoshop, knowledge of linux server environment.

Essential requirements:

Good English, written & spoken

Team Player & able to integrate well into a team environment

Confident & able to work quickly under pressure & independently as required

Flexible and adaptable; willing to help out where required

Experienced on Apple Mac OS (You will be working on a Mac)
